So, the guy's surgery to get his tonsils and adenoids out as well as to get ear tubes inserted went fine, all things considered. He is still hurting, but it is slowly getting better, and as long as we keep a little medicine in his system, he is fully active and has been for a the last week. He does hate that medicine though.
Before he went in, they gave him some drugs to calm him down and start prepping for the pain. We kind of wished we hadn't given these to him, seeing as we would have to give him later on, but it did make him hilariously tipsy. Also, he spit some up on his shirt. Also, Cait looks hot, am I right?
The surgery was super short, although they kept him back away from us for a while after it was finished, which sucked. He came out super upset and would remain various levels of upset throughout the day. It took a while for him to eat, but eventually he got feeling better and with generous helpings of PBS Kids and the IPad and being walked around the halls, he made it through. The nurses were really great and flexible as we tried to find ways to sooth him. They let us take him off the monitors often, which was nice. Here's some shots of him in the crib when he was feeling better than usual. (which he really wanted to stay in, unlike all other cribs in his life).
The Last of the Long Hair (but that is for another post)
