We are in an AWESOME ward in DC. Very diverse. Meets in an old Baptist Church. Half of the ward is French-speaking African immigrants. I'm in heaven.
A few things I heard today at Church:
1. In RS (the woman sitting behind me, getting fidgety and said out loud): "I NEED a cigarette."
2. At a baptism (a prayer by a Primary boy, probably about 8 himself speaking of the child being baptized): "And bless him that he will be OK with singing hymns, because we know he doesn't really like to."
Sometimes I feel like that in RS, too.
ReplyDeletehahaha you're going to have the best time! If you wanna go somewhere cool for a drink, stop into Hotel Palomar in Dupont Circle (just a few blocks away from you) at 5:30 ish for free sodas and tapas in their lobby. We always like to stay there when we're in town and it has the funkiest decor and nicest people who work there. No one will notice that you're not staying there :) Also, there is a great Ethopian restuarant at the edge of Georgetown (just before the bridge going toward Dupont Circle). It is named Zed's. Obviously the window shopping, homes and parks in the area are gorgeous! Enjoy!
