Update on Atticus (and me, but you don't have to read that part)

First off, cutest. baby. ever. He's not all smushed and ugly like most babies when they come out, his head is so round and his little nose! Oh my. He's a cute one.
Second, he's doing much better after a beautiful blessing from his daddy. Right after the blessing, they took him off the CPAP and we got to hold him for the first time except for those few seconds after he came out when he was all limp and unresponsive. It was SO NEAT. He instantly calmed down in our arms and was so mellow and just started into our eyes. I know he can already tell we're his parents, I can't wait to get him home with us and have our lives begin.
Well, we held him for an hour and then we decided to get some rest before they would let me come and breastfeed him at 11. But then when we left him his breathing got fast again and they had to put him back on the CPAP all night. They are going to take him off it again in a few hours, then we have to wait two hours before we breastfeed. I am going to hold him the entire time this time because while we were holding him he was breathing great. So I should probably get some sleep before then, since I have not slept but 5 hours since the birth.
Awesome enough, my body is healing like magic. I thought I would have the worst hemorrhoids ever because of the all the strain of pushing and for a while it was really painful but they are totally gone now. And everything in the nether region feels great. Even when I lapse in my pain medication I don't have any pain. I hope this is indicative of how it will feel when I'm home. I deserve a good recovery. That birth was rough. I still am in awe at my body. There were so many times near the end there that I completely lost faith in my ability to do anything. Now, I'm pretty sure I can do anything. If I can birth a baby, I can do anything.

Atticus looks SO good. Not only healthy, but also incredibly beautiful. He is a fabulous combination of Browning and Carroll. I can see some of the best features of both families in him. And was that a hint of red I saw in his hair? He's going to give Ben a run for his money in the most gorgeous baby contest.

Hope his NICU stint is short. I love you three, and wish I could be there!

Oh gosh! He is gorgeous!! His head is perfect and he isn't bright red like Eliza. I agree with Lauren that he is one fabulous combination.

I hope he gets to leave the NICU soon as well. I hated Eliza being in there. But it didn't last long, which will most likely be the case with Atticus.

I love the name. I love the child. I love you.

Honey, Aunt Carla wants your address. Could you send it to me.

I think he is handsome and beautiful.Cait did a great job so she does earn the title "Birthing Godess" I just wish you lived closer so I could see him more often. I think that is every Grandma's wish.
